Dry ice (Solid Carbon Dioxide) shipped by itself or used as a refrigerant for other commodities shall be loaded so that the following requirements are met :
- Dry ice shall not be loaded in excess of the quantity limitations shown below;

- Sublimation rate of dry ice will spontaneously increase upon contact with water. Therefore, the measures to protect dry ice shipments from water are required.
- Dry ice shall not be loaded with live animals (AVI) in the same compartment. This does not apply if they are loaded:
- in separated ULD and the ULDs are not adjacent to each other,
- in separate closed containers,
- in bulk compartment and in ULD separately, or (within a bulk compartment) in every other sub-section or 1.5 meters apart from each other
